I have recently enjoyed having a Portavolt for 2 weeks on the film set of Red Rocks Series 2, made on the Wellington south coast. It is the sort of product that I wished was around 30 years ago when I started working in location sound for the film industry. Silent power is a game changer for me but also for the lighting, grip, special fx teams and more. The Portavolt effortlessly ran the video village, smoke machines, light panels, “earthquake shakers” and more. The Portavolt could be chucked around in the elements, handled the weather, and put out the power, and no need to run lengths of 10 amp cable to get a thumping Honda 5k gennie out of earshot!
